why doesnt germany just invade austria then allie itself with russia then only have to worry about a threat on one side from france?
ReplyDelete1. I love that you're thinking about this on a sunday
ReplyDelete2. Because that would mean a massive occupation force, major war, huge expenditure, and lots o' death. Other countries would get involved to preserve the balance of power, and a European war would ensue.
Or, the Kaiser could just suck it up and play like bismarck.
but wouldnt an german invasion of austria insure peace through out europe because there would be no more tension between russia and austria therefore russia would ally itself with germany and france would be hassitant to show any aggresion towards germany so that russia and germany wouldnt attack france. plus england wouldnt get envolved because they dont envolve themselfs in anything unless they lose power or there is a chance of a threat that is directly at them or there colonies. another plus is that germany would get austrian colonies or the colonies can be divided among european countries.
ReplyDeleteand i was thinking about it because i had to finish my notes on bismark leadership
